Top Ten Reason for Canada Visa Denial

Reason no. 10:
You have no clear study plan or one that makes sense. A study plan will convince the Visa Examiner of your sincerity, the authenticity of your future plans and that you are not just bluffing

Reason no. 9:
You cannot show that you have stash-of-cash enough for your Canadian degree.
Of course, no money, no honey! The visa officer will not want you to go begging for bread on the streets of Toronto after 6 months, right? No-available-cash means your intention is not to study but to work in Canada… or worse, apply on a refugee status.

Reason no. 8:You “forgot” to tell the absolute truth about your relatives and particularly those who is/are in Canada. Don’t forget: Immigration authorities have a computer that tells all. As a tip: disclosure and honesty is a foundational principle in Canada. Besides, who likes liars anyway?

Reason no. 7:
You have a previous Immigration transgression.
Be sure you don’t have any bad record, especially, misrepresentation with the Canadian Embassy. That is a big no-no!

Reason no. 6:
You got married before you apply for visa and you didn’t tell the Visa Examiner!
As the spouse can be sponsored by the student, this could be very tempting to do. Remember, in all things: honesty is the best policy. Doing so and being found out is a clear indication of an intention to deceive that would of course result to visa denial.
(Oh by the way, did I say, “You got married and you did not invite the Visa Examiner?”)

Reason no. 5:
You have a questionable record in the country of origin including charges of criminality – not necessary convictions. Oh well…

Reason no. 4:
You have no more reason to return to your home country after being admitted to Canada, specifically, your family. Again, you have to truly convince the Visa Examiner that you intend to go to Canada only to study. Immigration plans MAY come…but not very soon.

Reason no. 3:
The school you picked makes no sense with respect to your stated intention. This is connected with your study plan. You need vocational guidance with respect to schools and provinces in Canada so that you will have an informed choice.

Reason no. 2:
You emphasize too much that you intend to work part-time in Canada while “studying.” Remember, the application is for a STUDENT VISA not for a WORK PERMIT. The mentality of the Visa Officer is this: are you a student or a job searcher.? If you want to study, prove that you will just study.

Reason no. 1:
ENGLISH. Knowing the language is mandatory since the medium of instruction is 100% English. If you don’t show an IELTS score of at least 6.5 to the Visa Examiner and tell him that you come to Canada to study English there (for a period of 6 months, as the usual length of study), you will be asked: “What will happen after 6 months and you have not been able to learn English at a College level?” When the officer asks this question, it’s a sure sign of visa denial.
